It is thanks to these shady individuals that the world knows not to trust products that seem too good to be true, and paved the way for ethical marketing practices.

Before starting a business on the web, it is important to understand that just having a website is not enough. It is a start, but you still have a long way to go before you’re actually able to reap the benefits. It also requires a significant investment on your part on the following:

* SEO or search engine optimization – the process that lets search engines find your website, otherwise it is just a needle in a haystack
* Web development – having a website is not enough. It has to look good and follow guidelines provided by Google.
* Content – this is what will drive people to your site. You will have to invest a significant amount of resources to get the best content possible. Why? Because Google says so.
